AGRICULTURE
We believe that support for the self-help efforts of farmers is critical for
the success of the Agricultural sector. Currently, a total of 3,996 hectares
are leased at reasonable rental rates to more than 2,700 tenant farmers. One
of the ways in which we support our farmers is through our bi-monthly Tenant
Farmers Sale Day which is held in Moneague. The event was born out of a need
to educate the farmers about new developments in the agricultural field.
Apart from educating the farmers and the attendees, the Sale Day also
provides a market for the farmers and a safe environment where they can sell
their produce at reasonable prices and meet directly with consumers,
retailers and exporters. Livestock farmers, butchers and processors are also
included in the day’s activities.
